Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and is quite modern but with lots of historic places, Hindu temples, Buddhist monastries and excellent views of the mountains- specially the mighty Himalayas to it's north.

Three major sister cities- Kirtipur, Bhaktipur and Patan have lots to offer to the visitors. Within the city, the Pashupatinath, the Boudhnath and the Swayambhunath are not to be missed.
Not much of shopping since most items in shops are from India.But local hand painted Tibetan murals, God plated metal statues etc are things one can buy.

Visiting the three darbar squares of the Kathmandu,Patan and Bhaktipur are a must.Other places are the one piece solid rock cut Boudh Nilkantha, Pashupatinathji and Dakshin Kali- where people still sacrifice goats and hens on tuesdays.
But a must is the Mountain flight by all local airlines along the Himlaya range where you can see Gourishankar, Everest etc from 25000 feet.

Indian national do not need any visa.A passport is required for varification.Kathmandu and around can be seen in three days.One can visit Pokhara,Jomsomfor good views of Himalayan range.
Indian currency is accepted everywhere.However notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 are not allowed in Nepal.Rs.100 equals Nepali Rs 160.
