Knysna Attractions

Knysna is a part of the Garden Route and has several attractions for its visitors. Tourists visit the town in large numbers for enjoying the beauty of its forests and freshwater lakes. Both kids and adults can enjoy Walking with Elephants in The Elephant Sanctuary. Extreme sports enthusiasts can enjoy bungee jumping at the world's highest commercial bungee jump point. An African Safari can be experienced with the Eastern Cape Safari.

Tourists can find a wide selection of restaurants, activities and cultural and heritage experiences in and around Knysna. There is no end to the adventure and natural encounters and trails in Knysna. One can drive down the Lagoon and observe the wreck of the Paquita in the Knysna Heads. The Featherbed reserve on the Western Head can also be visited. Along the lagoon’s edge, there is also an arrangement for multi-course buffet lunch.

Through the extremely steep road over Knysna’s Eastern Head and down the other side, one can reach the beautiful sheltered cove called Coney Glen. The steam train between Knysna and George, Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe offers a trip with spectacular views.

The Millwood Mines Circuit can be explored on bike or foot. Further, a visit can be made to the old mining museum and original spot of the Millwood village.
