| Knysna Forest |
|
The Knysna Forest is spread across a huge area of around 200,000 acres, which makes it the largest forest in the whole of South Africa. Daily guided tours are organised to this forest.
During the visit, tourists come across many native and exotic trees, such as the yellowwood that are 200 to 800 years old. Other prominent trees found here include stinkwood, ironwood, cape holly, white pear and the pink flowered cape chestnut tree.
In the forest, one can also see animals like antelopes, different species of birds and one of the four native elephants of the continent.
Tourists can also join the Knysna forest hiking trails. One can see the King Edward's Tree, which is a 130 foot tall yellowwood tree. The tree is believed to be over 600 years old.
