Kota-Kinabalu Excursions & Tours

Day trips and excursions can be taken from Kota Kinabalu to nearby places. Tourists can visit wildlife parks, cultural villages or visit the capital city of Borneo.

People can also visit Sabah Tea Garden which is the only organic tea farm in Borneo.

Day Trip to the Cultural Village of Monsopiad
On an excursion to the cultural village of Monsopiad which is an hour and a half from Kota Kinabalu visitors can see the Kadazan-Dusun culture and the feat of the Kadazan warrior Monsopiad who claimed 42 heads of his enemies that are on display at the museum.

Day trips can also be taken to the small town of Lok Kawi that boasts of a rich wildlife habitation of orangutans, gibbons, rhinoceroses, and birds amongst others.

Sabah Tea Garden
The Sabah Tea Garden comprises of tea plantations surrounded by mountains and rainforests. Sabah Tea Garden is considered to be the only organic tea farm in Borneo.

The garden is a 2 hour drive from the city and visitors can stay in the long houses, bungalows or campsites. There is also a trekking trail along the Kamunsu Hill.

Very near the garden is the historical Kundasang War memorial, Poring Hot Spring and the Kinabalu Park.
