Chicken Island or Hua Khwan is a popular destination in Krabi located near Rai Leh. This Island is known for its white coral sand beaches and crystal clear warm water. Because it is rich in coral life snorkelling is a popular activity here.
The name Hua Khwan Island or Chicken Island is derived from a rock formation that resembles the head of a chicken or a fowl. The island has steep cliffs on one end and on the other there are beaches along a peninsula. During high tide these get flooded and a small island is formed. Accommodation is not available on Hua Khwan Island.
The island can be reached easily by long tail boats from Ao Nang, Rai Leh or Phra Nang beaches.
