Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park is located in the north-east of South Africa and is ranked amongst the best conservation parks in Africa. It is spread around 20,000 square kilometres and is part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park.

The park was constructed to control hunting activities and save animals from extinction. Kruger provides shelter to species of 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals.

The park also has rivers flowing within, from east to west including Limpopo, Luvuvhu, Shingwedzi, Letaba, Olifants, Timbavati, Sabie and Crocodile River. Travelling through Johannesburg, the park can be entered from Numbi Gate and Paul Kruger Gate.

One can reach via air or road travel. Direct flights from Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town regularly come at the KMIA. Cars can also be hired for coming to the Kruger National Park.
    
The park has seven entry gates including Pafuri, Punda Maria, Phalaborwa, Orpen and Paul Kruger. Entry is not allowed inside the park after dark. The Park has tarred roads and driving at a moderate speed, one can reach the rest camps within 30 minutes to 3 hours depending upon the chosen rest camp.

Kruger attracts tourists for its sightseeing, wildlife exploration and accommodation. The park has moderate temperatures with warm summers and dry and cold winters. Therefore, tourists prefer to visit Kruger in winters.
