Kruger National Park has a number of activities for its visitors ranging from wilderness trails to tours and walks. One can experience the African safari in a wilderness trail that takes a group of about 8 people to the guided tour. One can also indulge in activities like playing golf, wellness spa treatments and game drives. Tourists can visit sites dating back to the time of Homo erectus.
Visitors can go for guided night and day drives, bush walks and spot rhinos, elephants, lions and other animals of the park. The 4X4 adventure trail gives an opportunity to explore the terrain and has a limit of six vehicles per trail in a day.
The Skukuza Indigenous Plant Nursery, Crocodile River View Point, Bird Hides in Kruger and Sable Dam Hide are some of the prominent attractions for tourists coming for overnight stay. Masorini, Dogs’ Cemetery, Bell Tower, Old Pontoon Bridge and Train Bridge can also be visited.
In Kruger, tourists can also go for Astronomy (Stargazing) Presentations of the southern hemisphere skies. African star lore and night sky viewing through a large telescope are other activities. A telescope has been set up for viewing the remote site of Olifants Camp on the river bank.
Lower Sabie, Skukuza and other bigger campsites provide shopping facilities. Traditional South African Braai with 3 meats, different types of salads and freshly baked breads are served at the restaurants located in the camps.
In the middle of the wilderness, tourists can buy almost everything from grocery to wine at the shops in rest camps. Apart from curio items, one can buy artistic wood carvings. Except for the Bushveld and Satellite Camps, shops can be found in most of the camps.
