The Franciscan Church was constructed in the second half of the 13th century. The medieval Gothic mendicant architecture was built between the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
It has the most elaborate pulpit in Switzerland and is located close to the Jesuit Church. The sightseeing destination is situated on the south bank of the Reuss River.
The church has a Baroque sided chapel decorated with Italianate stucco. Dating back to the 15th century, the wooden carved pulpit is popular among the tourists.
The architecture was completely restored between 1988 and 1989. The architecture has flag frescoes that depict the conquests of Lucerne in the Middle Ages.
