The Jesuit Church was the first large sacral Baroque church and was built in 1666 by Father Christoph Vogler. Constructed between 1666 and 1667, the structure is dedicated to Francis Xavier.
The inner chapel contains the original vestments of famous Swiss patron, Brother Klaus. Jesuit Church was redecorated during the mid 18th century. It has a Rococo interior that was designed in the year 1750.
The architecture was successfully completed by the joint efforts of workers from Italy and Austria. At present, the church serves the purpose of concert hall.
The front part of the church has a pink altarpiece that acts as the focal point. This altarpiece is made of stucco and plaster. It contains the life-size statue of the beloved recluse clad in brown habit.
