Hotels in Malé are a mix of ultra-luxurious resorts, backpacker hotels and guest houses.
With international chains like Holiday Inn, Sheraton and Taj alongside guesthouses and budget hotels there is a wide variety of options to choose from based on one’s needs. Most hotels provide complimentary transport services to and from the airport.
Hotels are mostly concentrated on Majeedhee Magu and Boduthakurufaanu Magu near the Hulhumale Ferry Terminal. Average hotel prices during off season range from 2,000 INR to 24,000 INR per night for two adults. However hotel prices in Malé are seasonal. During Christmas and New Year the prices double as people from all over the world gather to enjoy the warm tropical climate.
Nearly all major hotel chains and resorts focus on both the business and the leisure traveller with facilities like business centre, fitness centre, pool and spa. It is advisable to book one’s accommodation prior to arrival as getting hotel rooms on the spot may not be easy and even if available might come at a higher price. Reservations can be made online.
