The major road network to travel to Metro Manila are NLEX (North Luzon Expressway) and SLEX (South Luzon Expressway). These expressways are toll operated. Angeles (Clark Field), Baguio City, Bulacan and Pampanga (Mt Pinatubo) are linked by NLEX. Laguna, Legazpi City (Mayon Volcano), Tagaytay, Batangas and Quezon Province are connected by SLEX. The speed limit on the expressways is 80-100 km/h.
The main road in Metro Manila is EDSA (Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue). The expressways terminate on this road and link other cities in Philippines with Manila. The road starts from the south and extends to Manila Bay. It ends in the north at Monumento, Caloocan City.
The road also travels across Ayala Avenue (Makati City), Shaw Boulevard in the mid-section (Pasig City & Ortigas Centre) and Quezon Acentrevenue (Quezon City) in the north. In Manila, the road links Malate district and Intramuros with the city centre.
There is no central bus terminal in Manila. Most of the buses terminate their services at the major points along the EDSA. Different bus operators use their own bus terminals. Quezon City and Pasay City are the terminals for Philtranco and Victory Liner, respectively.

The bus service by Philtranco Service Enterprises Incorporated provides connectivity between Manila and Legazpi, Sorosogon, Davao on Mindanao Island & Tacloban on Leyte. The destinations linked by Victory Liner Incorporated are Manila, Baguio, Alaminos, Tuguegarao, Olongapo, Iba and Dagupan.
