Before the Second World War, there was a railway track from Tampin to Melaka, which was dismantled during the Japanese invasion.
This Tampin Railway Station is also known as Pulau Sebang Railway Station. Though not too big, Tampin railway station is modern, has air-conditioned waiting rooms, food courts, facilities like ATM and cyber cafés. The station also has a big outdoor waiting area.
It is easy to find taxis from the train station to get to the town. Tai Lye bus connects Tampin railway station with Melaka Sentral bus station.
Trains are a slower means of transport to the Melaka city, but allows one to enjoy the countryside scenery.
There are only three trains a day from Kuala Lumpur railway station to Tampin.
