| Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage |
|
Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage was founded by David Sheldrick and is now managed by his wife Daphne Sheldrick. It is the centre for orphan elephant calves, which are separated from their parents due to ivory poaching. This elephant conservation centre gives a home to baby elephants, where they are given personal care till they are old enough to be released in the wild.
One can find elephants aged from few months to three years. The elephants are released in Tsavo Game Park after a certain age and finally moved to wild forests. Tourists can watch calves playing, bathing and being fed by their personal keepers. Visitors can also see baby rhinos in this orphanage.
Timing:11 am – 12 pm
