Travelling to Pattaya

There is a direct first class bus service to Pattaya from Bangkok through the North Pattaya Road bus station. The buses that depart from the Eastern and Northern Bus Terminals are frequent and take about 2.5 hours to complete the journey.

The buses that depart from the Southern Bus Terminals are less frequent and take more time to complete the journey. Tourists must board the bus from the terminus as the buses are usually full when they depart. Tickets can be purchased from the bus station. It also provides facilities like AC and on-board toilet.

The second class bus services make frequent stops and take more time than the first class bus service. The bus provides service to and from Bangkok and other short-haul destinations. Buses are mostly air conditioned.

The terminus for the second class bus service is located at South Pattaya Road. Tickets are available both at the bus station and on the bus. One can board these buses from the terminal though it picks up and drops majority of their passengers en route.

The Bangkok minibuses run between the hotels in Pattaya and Bangkok and Khao San Road. It offers the convenience of a door-to-door service. The journey takes around 2 hours. Tourists can also travel by “songthaews” that depart every few minutes and charge much less than the buses or taxis to go anywhere on the Beach Road.

There is a government operated bus service from the Suvarnabhumi airport. Assistants at the airport direct passengers to the mini-bus and taxi services. Direct bus services are offered by some private operators, from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya. These buses travel directly between the terminal building and the northern bus station.

It provides services like drop off and pick up from major hotels. The direct bus services from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the major regions of Pattaya like Pattaya Nua, Pattaya Tay and Pattaya Klang are also offered by some private operators.
