The popular excursion sites near Pattaya are Bang Saen, Ko Si Chang, Sammuk Hill, Nong Mon Market, Ang Sila and the Ang Sila Old Market.
Bang Saen is an ancient beach resort 14 kilometres from Chonburi. There are many food shops, colourful umbrellas and sling chairs along the shore. Close by the Bang Saen beach is the shrine of Goddess of Sammuk Hill. The hill has monkeys and cactus gardens.
Ang Sila is a small fishing village known for mussel and oyster farming. There are souvenir shops and seafood restaurants in Ang Sila. Apart from this, the Nong Mon Market near Bang Saen Beach is a shopping destination with souvenir and food shops.
The Koh Loi Si Racha is a small islet comprising a public park, a temple and a sea turtle garden. It is linked to the shore by a concrete bridge.
The big island of Ko Si Chang is an old palace and residential building, belonging to the time of King Rama V. The Wat Atsadang Nimit, Chakkraphong Cave, Chinese Pavilion and Hin Klom Beach are other attractions of the island.
