The Botanical Gardens cover a total area of 30 hectare and also features a waterfall. The garden was created by the British in 1884 as a tribute to Charles Curtis, the first superintendent who used to collect botanical specimens from the surrounding hills.
These specimens have become very important in the world's major herbariums. The gardens are also famous for their Rhesus monkeys.
