Chihli Beach

Chihli Beach, situated on the Fengkuei Peninsula down the South end of Makung City, extends over 1 km on the Southwest side.

A sandy beach of scale, Chihli Beach is also the most beautiful lido in Penghu, compared to others like Waikiki in Hawaii. At the beach, tourists can indulge in sun bathing and water activities, primarily snorkelling.

Near the beach is a fishing village, known as Chihli. This village is home to a temple and an ancestral hall.

During low tide, tourists can take part in the ancient fishing practices of Penghu, better known as ‘Soul Picnic’ or a so-called ‘human sea trawling’. Swimming is another prominent activity of the region.
