There are no buses connecting other countries with Philippines, since it is an archipelago and is surrounded by water on all sides. However, various domestic companies operate bus services within the major islands within the country. A number of provincial bus companies like Victory Liner connect Manila with the provinces in the north and south.
There are no dedicated bus stations in the Metro Manila area. However, different companies use varied terminals as their bus stops. Generally, buses destined for northern provinces end in the Pasay area of EDSA (Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue), while those destined for southern provinces, use EDSA in Cubao.
The major bus stations in Manila are Alabang, FTI, Baclaran, Magellan, EDSA Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas Avenue and Las Pinas. The other prominent bus stations in the area are Cubao, Coastal Road, Pasig, Novaliches, SM Fairview, PhilCoa, UP Diliman, Zapote and Taft Avenue.
The bus service in Philippines is useful for travelling to destinations like Cagayan Valley Region, Baguio, Laoag, Dagupan, Ifugao, Kalinga and Isabela provinces. One can also travel to Baliuag, Cababatuan in Nueva Ecija province and San Jose del Monte in Bulacan province by buses.
Other bus routes in the country connect Aparri & Tuguegarao in Cagayan province, Calamba in Laguna province, Nasugbu in Batangas province and Lucena City in Quezon province. One can also travel to Legazpi, Dagupan, Alaminos, Lingayen in Pangasinan province, Baguio City, Benguet province and Ifugao Province in Cordillera by buses.
Other popular bus routes in the country are provinces of Abra & La Union, Sampaloc, Bolinao in Pangasinan province, Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija province and the province of Ilocos Norte. Ilocos Sur & Lucena City in Quezon province, Naga City in Camarines Sur province and Sorsogon province are all connected by buses.
Buses in the country also link Manila with the city of Tarlac, Dagupan City in Pangasinan province, San Fernando in La Union province and Vigan City. Buses also link Manila with Olongapo City in Zambales province, Tarlac province, San Fernando in La Union province, Baguio City and Benguet province. Other bus routes are Alaminos, Bolinao & Dagupan cities in Pangasinan province and Tuguegarao & Aparri towns in Cagayan province.
The various bus operators in the country are Viron Transportation, Victory Liner, Tritran Transit, Philtranco, Maria de Leon Transit and Partas Transportation Company. Other provincial bus companies of the country are JAC Liner, Fariñas Transit, Dagupan, Alladin Transit, Autobus, Baliwag Transit and BLTB.
ALPS travels in the Batangas, Bicol and Western Visayas region. It also has services from Nasugbu & Batangas to Bolbok, Batangas City and Batangas.
There are three types of buses that operate in Philippines. These include air-conditioned official buses with TV, non air-conditioned official buses and private buses. The frequency of these buses varies between 30 minutes and 1 hour. The fare of buses ranges from 6.89 USD to 11.49 USD.
