Spread across 4,000 metres, Karon Beach is the second largest beach in Phuket. Karon is one of Phuket's long beaches and is also very popular due to its fine white sand.
Due to the presence of these sand dunes, Karon was one of the few beaches not affected by the tsunami. The entire stretch of the beach is lined up with hotels and on either ends there are lots of shops, restaurants and pubs.
The beach is good for swimming and water sports. The side sois should not be missed, particularly the one that leads to a small art community. Here, one can witness some budding Thai painters, who have built a complex of huts, pubs and art galleries in which they live and work.
Visitors can also look out for handicraft shops, restaurants and cafes, a few bars and a hotel modeled on the Sino-Portuguese architecture of Old Phuket around the beach.
What are the must see attractions of Phuket? I am planning to go there in the month of July. I want to know if it will be good. Or will there be any fest or something in Phuket any part of the year? And let me know of some luxurious stay in Phuket.
Hi,
In continuation with my posts on Bangkok and Pattaya, I will be staying at Phuket for 5 days. Which I think is ample time to cover a lot of places around Phuket. Please let me know which are these places we could visit and what are the sightseeing attractions in Phuket.
Thanks
