There are several prominent lookout points in Phuket. Phromthep Cape becomes a busy tourist spot during sunset because of the views it provides. Located on the southern part of the island, the hill has a lighthouse from where one gets a better view of the nearby islands.
Elephant shrine is a temple dedicated to Lord Brahma situated on the hill. The temple gets its name from the numerous wooden elephants dotting the premises. There is also a restaurant on the north-western part of the hill.
Situated between Kata and Rawai is the famous Kho Saam Haad viewpoint overlooking the three beaches – Karon beach, Kata beach and Kata Noi.
Cape Panwa, also known as Khao Khad Views Tower is located on the southern part of Phuket City providing a view of the Andaman Sea. One also gets a wonderful view of Chalong Bay, Makhan Bay and Southern Phuket as a whole from this two-storied tower. Situated on the top of the tower is the Big Buddha.
The Radar Hill View Point is the tallest lookout point in the island with a height of nearly 500 metres. One gets a view of the Bang Wad reservoir and the Chalong Bay among other things from this point.
Khao Rang near the city, and Big Buddha, between Chalong and Kata, from where one can see Phuket Town, Chalong Bay and Kata are the other scenic view points.
What are the must see attractions of Phuket? I am planning to go there in the month of July. I want to know if it will be good. Or will there be any fest or something in Phuket any part of the year? And let me know of some luxurious stay in Phuket.
Hi,
In continuation with my posts on Bangkok and Pattaya, I will be staying at Phuket for 5 days. Which I think is ample time to cover a lot of places around Phuket. Please let me know which are these places we could visit and what are the sightseeing attractions in Phuket.
Thanks
