Pokhara has two bus stations, one at Pritvi Chowk and the other near Purano Bazaar. The one at the Pritvi Chowk is the oldest bus station and buses depart from this station to the eastern and southern cities like Biratnagar, Dhangadi, Kathmandu and Birganj.
The bus station near Purano Bazaar is called the Naya Bus Park and buses arrive and depart to western cities like Baglung and Beni from this bus station. The two bus stations, are however, small.
Facilities include a washroom and drinking water. There is another bus station at Mustang Chowk from where tourist buses are available to Kathmandu.
Mostly private operators provide bus services in the area. Buses are available to and from Kathmandu from the main bus stand every 15 minutes, daily. However, these buses can become very crowded. Tourist buses as well as mini buses are available to Kathmandu, but are less frequent.
