There is no train station in Pokhara, or for that matter, the entire country. The nearest train station to the place is in India at New Jalpaiguri. Buses are available from New Jalpaiguri to the Nepal Border, which is 88 km away from Pokhara city.
Tourist buses are available from New Jalpaiguri station in India to the Nepal Border. It takes approximately 7-8 hours to travel from New Jalpaiguri to the Nepal border.
Nepal does not have train services. The trains travelling in India from the major cities to New Jalpaiguri are express trains with washrooms as well as drinking water facility on board. The trains have sleeper berths as well as air conditioned compartments. Prior reservation is needed for travelling.
