Pokhara Hotels

Most of the accommodations in Pokhara are in the form of small lodges or guest-houses. There are very few star category or luxury hotels in the area. Most of the hotels are located in Damside and Lakeside, close to the Phewa Lake.

However, new lodges are coming up in the area, close to the World Peace Pagoda. Most of the guest-houses in Pokhara are located in the Sarangkot area but are higher priced than the rest of the accommodations.

Recent developments in the city have prompted the construction of a new range of hotels, but they are still not operational.

There are no major international or domestic hotel chains operating in the city. However, there are many standalone budget hotels and two and three star hotels.

The accommodations in Pokhara do not have business facilities. Most of the hotels, being budget accommodations, facilities are limited, and do not have business or leisure facilities. However, most of them have facilities like cable television, telephone and bathroom amenities. Most of the guesthouses, B&Bs and other type of hotels arrange trekking tours to the mountain ranges that surround the city.

The peak season of Pokhara is during the months of February to May, which is the most suitable time for trekking. Hotels are mostly booked during this time and the prices of accommodation are at their highest. If travelling during the peak season, it is better to make advance bookings .

Other than that, accommodation is easily available here at nominal prices, even during the holiday season of Christmas and New Year.
