Prasat Preah Vihear can be reached from Thailand without any visa. A road runs from Siem Reap to Anlong Veng and Preah Vihear and tourists can avail 4x4 vehicles or motos to reach the temple base.
Multi-day bike trips are available from Phnom Penh and Kompong Thom to Preah Vihear. The nearest commercial airport to Prasat Preah is the Phnom Penh airport almost 320 km away.
Share taxis and pick-ups are also available for travelling to Preah Vihear. A new road links Siem Reap to Koh Ker from where a sand track leads to Preah Vihear. Motorbike taxis available from the bus stop of Siem Reap take travellers through rice fields, ancient bridges, bamboo forests, villages, temples and small rivers.
Preah Vihear is a landmine prone area, so warning signs all around should be followed strictly.
