Merbabu Graveyard

The huge stretch of Merbabu Graveyard is located at about a walking distance of 20 minutes from downtown Sabang City. The graveyard has burials of men and women belonging to various religious communities like Muslims, Christians and Buddhists from different parts of the world including Chinese, Indonesians, Japanese, French and the Dutch.

The inscriptions on the gravestones tell the stories of Dutch colonialists, Japanese nobleman, the daughter of a Batak King, adventurers and many others who have been buried here.
