Travelling to Queenstown

The Queenstown International Airport is located 10 km from the city centre. The airport serves direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as well as major cities of New Zealand. There are no direct flights from India to Queenstown. The airport also serves private jets and has busiest helicopter port in the country.

Facilities available on the airport include washrooms, ATM machines, telephones and internet facilities. The airport also has wheelchair accessible toilets and elevated ramps to cater to special needs. Duty free shops at the airport sell various knit wear items, chocolates, liquor etc.

The airport also has a baggage storage area as well as a baby change room. One has to pay a departure fee of NZD 25 if flying internationally and a departure fee of NZD 5 per person if one is flying domestically.

Queenstown International Airport is located 10 km from the city centre in Frankton. One can reach the city centre from the airport by taking the Connectabus. The bus service runs every 20 minutes from the airport and the approximate fare for the bus journey is NZD 6 per person.

Taxis are easily available and the approximate fare for the taxi is NZD 25. Shared shuttles are also available. It takes about 25 minutes to reach the city centre from the airport by bus while by a taxi it takes about 10-15 minutes.

There are no train services available from the airport to the city centre.
