The idyllic landscape of Sentosa provides varied accommodation options, all of which offer international delicacies, entertainment and recreational facilities. There are luxury hotels, budget resorts, medium-class beachfront resorts, private villas and secluded resorts in the island.
The varied accommodation options in the island of Sentosa cater to family groups, the corporate client and the honeymoon couple.
The high end resorts in Sentosa are located in the hill overlooking Siloso Beach. Budget accommodation options can be found on the Bukit Manis Road and the Beach View Road. One can find villas at the Siloso Beach and Imbiah Lookout.
The only international hotel chain found in Sentosa is Shangri-La. The Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort is the only resort in Sentosa with a beachfront location.
Apart from this international chain, one can find many domestic hotels in Sentosa. These include Amara Sanctuary Resort, Siloso Beach Resort, Festive Hotel and Crockfords Tower.
Tourists on business travel can stay in the many high-end hotels in Sentosa that are located near mainland Singapore and are linked by a causeway. The facilities at these hotels include international direct dial telephone (with voice mail), writing desk, internet access, business centre, conference and meeting/banquet facilities, etc.
Many resorts in Sentosa attract the leisure traveller with facilities like spa, gymnasium, outdoor pool, tea/coffee making facilities, etc. Shuttle, courier, limousine and currency exchange services are also available.
Beach lovers can plan a trip to Sentosa anytime, as the hot sun is experienced throughout the year. Moreover, one can also plan a trip to the island during the festivals and events that take place in the destination.
Sentosa organises popular events, including giant sand sculptures, beach parties, dance festivals, cultural & pop concerts, international sports events, colourful country festivals, beach carnivals and annual countdown parties.
The prices of the accommodation options during the festive seasons are higher compared to the other months of the year. Further, as Sentosa is visited by many locals during the weekends, the prices increase on public holidays and weekends. Since the months of June to August are the most pleasant time of the year in Sentosa, it is the peak tourist season when the prices of hotels and resorts soar.

The best of Sentosa Islands
|
|
At the Sentosa Islands, I plan to catch the following (other than Universal Studios, of course) based on general public feedback.
- Sentosa CineBlast + Desperados - 2-IN-1
- Megazip (Not too adventurous so avoiding Climbmax, Parajump, Northface)
- Luge & Skyride
- Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon
- Songs of the Sea
- Animal & Bird Encounters at Palawan Amphitheatre
- Segway Fun Ride (on secure circuit)
- Southernmost point of Continental Asia
For anyone who has covered Sentosa Islands as comprehensively as possible, could you please guide me on a few queries…
1) I have short-listed the following to save time and money. But am I missing anything really worthwhile from the above mentioned rides/shows/attractions?
2) Would I be able to cover all this within one day? Will it he a rush-n-run experience?
3) Do I need to go for advance booking for any of these rides? I plan to visit in Apr-May 2012… is that peak period?
4) What kind of transport is available within Sentosa to go from one attraction point to other? Are they really far-away from each other? Are there any shuttle services and how much would it cost? I don’t have personal transport…
5) What are the best economical pure veg food options within Sentosa?
6) Finally, how much would I compromise on the fun if I take along my 2-yr son, since I guess kids are not allowed on most rides?
Would really appreciate genuine feedback. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Gaurav
