Being an island and surrounded by water on all sides, Sicily has a Mediterranean climate throughout the year. The climate varies from region to region in Sicily.
The south-eastern part is dry, whereas the north-western part is comparatively warmer. Areas on the higher altitude remain cool and receive rainfall throughout the year.
Summers in Sicily are usually dry and start from early June till September. Temperature during these months fluctuates between 25° to 28° Celsius. Since the city is located near the coast, sunshine remains for around 10 hours a day.
The months of October and November are the autumn season. The weather remains pleasant with temperatures averaging to around 20° Celsius. Gradually, the rainfall also enhances during these seasons.
Average temperature in winters varies between 15° to 10° Celsius and between 16° to 22° Celsius from March to May which is the spring season.
The ideal time for planning a trip to Sicily is during autumn, as the climatic conditions are pleasant.
