Apart from complying with the basic requirements of possessing a passport (with blank pages) of at least six months of validity, confirmed tickets and sufficient funds to cover the period of visit, a tourist visa is required for visiting Singapore.
Apart from tourist visa, the visitor visa and working holiday visa and business visas are also issued. While tourist visa is for sightseeing, visitor visa is issued to those who want to visit Singapore to meet their family or friends residing there permanently.
Indian passport holders must obtain a visa for travelling to Singapore.and A travel agent could apply for visa on behalf of the tourist.
The Consulate-General of Singapore in India does not accept applications submitted in person. An application must be downloaded and submitted at the Indian office of a trusted partner of the Consulate General of Singapore.
Once the visa has been approved it can be printed at the office of the partner. If a tourist is acquainted with a Singapore local holding a ‘Singpass account’, the local can apply on the tourist’s behalf.
Indians planning to visit Singapore must complete form 14 A with all details. The application form is also available free of charge at any of the trusted Partners’ offices or from the office of any Singaporean mission overseas.
The documents that need to be provided along with the application for a visa are a passport with remaining validity of at least six months, copies of the information page and of the last page of the passport, confirmed ticket to Singapore along with copies of the same, one coloured passport-sized full face photograph measuring 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm and completed Form 14 A with signature and accompanied with a letter explaining reason for visiting Singapore.
A non-refundable visa fee of INR 1020 needs to be paid at the time of application.. It takes a minimum of 2 working days to process the visa.
