Cycling is a popular outdoor activity in Taipei. Tourists can take a tour of the city on the bikes that are available on rent. The biking tracks are laid down in the entire city to offer traffic–free biking experience to the travelers.

One can also head out of town on the cycling sightseeing tours. Dan Shui Riverside Cycling Path can be used for exploring nature. The path originates at the Tam Sui MRT station and moves across the river, leading one into the nation's last mangrove swamplands.

Some of the Riverside Bike Trails are located on the left and right banks of the Jingmei River, Guandu Bikeway and Keelung River Bicycle Trail, to name a few.
