Thailand has a tropical climate and the weather is mostly hot and humid all around the year. The normal temperature ranges from 28° Celsius to 35° Celsius. The climate in the north of Thailand comprises three seasons, while the southern peninsula witnesses two seasons. The southern parts of Thailand receive more rains than the northern regions.
The months from November to February are cold, especially in the mountainous regions of the north. The temperature can fall down to 5° Celsius during the Christmas season in the northern mountains. Nights in the northern parts of Thailand are chilly during this time and the temperature also drops down to freezing point.
In the hot months of March to June, the temperature can reach as high as 40° Celsius. The hottest month of the year is April, when the weather turns extremely hot and humid. Humidity levels can reach up to 75%.
From the month of July to October, the rainy season prevails in most parts of the country. However, there are local deviations in these patterns as the south east coast of Thailand gets reversed rainfalls. The humidity levels reach up to 90% with the average temperature being 29° Celsius.
The best time to visit Thailand is during the winter when the weather is pleasant. The months between November and February are also preferred as there are no rains. The peak tourist season is between May and October, when tourists can enjoy various outdoor activities.
