While Namtso Lake is the second largest saltwater lake in China, Bakhor Street has a 1300 year old history.
As Tibet is a high altitude area, the destinations here offer many activities and outdoor adventure sports like mountain hiking and trekking. One of the popular trekking routes is from Ganden Monastery towards the Samye Monastery. Apart from these activities, there are certain locations like the Tsangpo River that offer activities like water rafting.
From Tibet, excursions can be taken to the Tandruk Monastery which is located in the southern part of Tsetang and is one of the oldest monasteries of Tibet. Other places to where tours can be taken include Yambajan, an area with many hot springs, Ramoche Temple, Pabonka Hermitage, etc.
