The New Zealand dollar is the currency of New Zealand. It is normally written as NZ$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies. It is one of the 12 most-traded currencies in the world.
Banknotes are available in denominations of $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, while coins come in denomination of 10c, 20c, 50c, $1, $2.
All major currencies, like US Dollar, Pound Sterling, Euro can be readily exchanged in Wellington.
Foreign currencies can easily be exchanged at banks, New Zealand Post shops, some hotels and Bureau de Change kiosks, which are found in the international airport and in the city centre.
