The currency used in Xian is Chinese Yuan or Rinminbi (the people's money), which is written as RMB in short.   is the symbol used to denote the Chinese currency. One Yuan is divided into 10 Jiao or Mao. One Mao is divided into 10 Fen. 1 Yuan is equivalent to INR 7.

Yuans are available in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 whereas Jiaos are available in denominations of 1, 2 and 5 and Fens are available in 1, 2 and 5 denominations. No other currency is accepted in Xian.
