What are the attractions we should not miss in at Bangkok? Please suggest me some good food joints too. What are the options for recreations. Where can i take my children? Also enlighten me about the shopping options?
Hi Rohit, I would really, really recommend the floating market. Its generally clubbed with Crocodile show, Monkey show and Elephant rides. Please note that you have to pay separately for the elephant rides and the shows. I also loved the royal palace. Its wonderful architecture. You can go to all these places with your children.
If you have a weekend, do not, I repeat, do not miss the Chatuchak market. It happens every saturday/sunday. You get EVERYTHING there ... its a shopper's delight. We shopped for around 25000 bahts between 3 friends and still felt that we could have done more.
You could stay in Hotel Ambassador which is more or less in a centre place. This makes it convenient to catch the metro to different places including MBK Mall which is a good shopping place. There are couple of other malls near to MBK where you could go. Shopping: Only for people who prefer western clothing. There are lot of Indian Restaurants nearby to Hotel Ambassador where you can get good Indian Food. The complimentary breakfast in the hotel is quite a handful and tasty too. Regarding the places: 1) Floating Market 2) Reclining Buddha 3) Cruise on the river 4) Tiger Park near Bangkok 5) Wild Life Safari ( It takes a entire day but worth it) 6) Amusement Park( Children would enjoy it) 7) Palace ( They wont allow you inside) These are the places i would recommend in Bangkok. There may be other places too which i do not know. If you go to Pattaya, you should go to the coral islands. The parasailing/water scooters are too costly. You have them in Goa too. You must visit Alchezeirs Show. regards Anand Murthy
