My wife and me are going to Malaysia nxt month. I would like to know what are places which we should not miss to see and what are the things wch we shuld not miss to do.. Please suggest me some good hotels too..
It depends on how many days you have to spare. Anyhow, do not miss Langkawi and Genting Highlands. Of course you will have to travel to Kuala Lumpur also. At Genting you should take some exciting rides in the Theme Park and at Langkawi take a tour of the island. A visit to a couple of beaches is a must in Langkawi. In KL visit the twin towers and KL tower. and some malls in the times Square. For budget shopping go to Mydin Mall or Hanif Store. In Langkawi you can buy duty-free bags, chocolates and whiskey. There are plenty of hotels at all these places. It depends on your budget. Must stay for 3 days in Langkawi if you have the time.
Mate I see from your profile you are based in Kolkata,so if you want a 2 /3 star hotel thats convenient try the hotel Sentral,at bricklands, right next to the Sentral railway station, and the sky train. We stayed there last week, several classe of room available. Also, the street around the hotel is full of economical Pakistani and Indian cafes if you dont want to waste money on big restaurants. You asked for good hotels, not sure what that means? If you want a 4 to 5 star, cant go past the Crowne Plaza, its right at the skyrail stop, downtown, and if you decide on that one, which is part of the Holiday Inn franchise, get a free nights and other goodies,by joining up with the Priority Privlege club.

When you are travel to Malaysia, you do not miss to visit Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands, Batu Cave and twin towers. There are plenty of hotels at all these places. If you have a enough time to spend in Malaysia stay 2, 3 night at Genting Highlands it will gives you memorable time in your life.
Site Seeing in Malaysia: We had visited KL & Genting Highlands. Not to miss both. At Genting the Cable ride is the most exciting experience. The place is @ 2000 meters from Sea. Genting requires atleast 2-3 days to really enjoy The Indoor Theme Park, The Outdoor Theme park & the Casino
At KL - Got to Petronas Towers on your own. Suggested to go in the afternoon & stay thru the night to enjoy to really enjoy the Beauty both in lights & during day. On every Monday the Towers are closed for Maintenance. You wont be able to go on the Aero bridge. The half day city tour is inadequate to enjoy the places though it will cover most of the places. The KL Tower is not part of city tour so you need to visit separately.
Stay in KL: We stayed in Hotel Istana near Twin Towers. Lot of 5 star hotels near by. Istana was very good. The food also is Good.
Shopping in KL:
places like Little India, Little China are famous for shopping. Avoid Electronics as mostly fake branded products are sold. Little India is like India with Indian community living there. You can shop for clothes etc. You can bargain.
At Little China the Traders are Rude. Avoid shopping there. It is equivalent to Chor Bazars in India. No guarantee. Here Rule while shopping: If you bargain & agree on a price, BETTER buy it from that shop or Trader. If you do not buy, they take offence & the message spreads in the market & you will not be allowed to shop.
Singapore is better for Shopping though may be little costlier than Malaysia
