The most economical option is Bangkok + Pattaya. You can possibly spend 2 nights at a resort in Pattaya and 2 nights in Bangkok. The advantage of Pattaya is that you can see the Thailand beaches by travelling over land and don't have to spend additional amounts on flights. Phuket is a popular beach destination in Thailand and has lots of budget accomodation on offer. You can take a budget airline from Bangkok to Phuket. I had travelled to Bangkok and Phuket in May this year. From what I recall, the airticket on Thai was approx.Rs.24,000 from Bangalore-Bangkok-Phuket return. Accomodation in Phuket would be around US$75-100 for a good five star property off season, but you can also find several cheaper options starting from around US$50 for a three star place. Food and shopping is relatively cheap unless you choose to eat out in fancy restaurants. Hope this helps!

Bangkok- Pattya circuit is the most popular, allow total 7 nts, go to Pattya directly from Bangkok Swarnabhomi airport, cab will cost you aprox 1400 TBH , spend 2 nights in Pattya where you can visit to Coral Islands, Noongnooch village etc, return to Bangkok by bus, the ticket is aprox 117 TBH per person for a airconditioned bus, while in Bangkok take a temple tour, shop at MBK and street shopping at Pratunam area, there are several Indian eating joints there and lots of budget hotesl there
