Hi AnjuM
This is probably the best time to visit Dubai, as the weather is great !
Places of interest - Perhaps the museum at Bur Dubai, Malls, Malls, Malls, Malls, but dont miss the Desert Safari ...and sign up for the whole hog !
Includes dune bashing as well as dinner in the desert, with belly dancing, sheesha, camel rides etc etc.
Quite honestly apart fm shopping shopping and more shopping there's nothing much really that one can do at Dubai.....however its a ganstronomes delight !
The variety of cuisines available is truly unbelieveable. Ranging fm Brazilian, Irish, Kenyan, Russian, Pakistani and the usual Italian, Chinese, and some great tandoori stuff, but of course u cannot miss the local Arabic (Mediterannean) fare.
Visit the "Automatic Grill and Restaurant" for fabulous local food..this is a chain of restaurants and has maintained high standards over the years.
Dont miss the Pakistani Biryani at "Liyari's" (in Deira, if u can find this place).
The butter chicken/tikkas and roti at "Karachi Darbar" are also worth trying !
Honestly, the place is so vibrant that there's a new restaurant opening up every other week, so its very difficult to keep a tab on many restaurants.
But u also get great food at the Food Courts in the Malls, so don't worry if u cant find any of the restaurants listed above....u wud never go hungry for good grub in Dubai and i guarantee u, u wud return at least a few kilos heavier !! (unless u lose it all shopping !!)
Budget ??
Well an average decent hotel wud set u back by about AED 500-600 (appx USD 170)
Metered taxis wud cost an average about AED 25-35 for a shortish journey,
Desert Safari - appx AED 300 per head (i think it shud be around that much now)
now add up food and of course how much u wanna spend on shopping ..and u have the budget !
(I know its a bit tricky...but at least u have some numbers !)
Have Fun ! Eat Lotsssss !!!!
and Do let us know how it went !
Cheers
Ketan
