The doorway to the multi faceted heritage of this country is through the Ancient City of Thailand or the Muang Boran. Thereafter, tourists can visit the famous Suwan Ku Ha Cave and Suan Mokhaphalaram Temple built by Ajarn Bhikkhu Buddhadhasa. These places are famous for their Buddhist statues and marvellous architecture.

Another historical city in Thailand is Ayutthaya, which was the old capital of Thailand. This ancient city has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Ayutthaya has many places to visit such as the Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the largest temple in this island.

The place is also home to other temples like the Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit, Wat Phra Mahathat, Wat Ratchaburana, Wat Phra Ram and the Phet Fortress. The Bang Pa-In Palace in Ayutthaya is also a major tourist attraction and was built in the 17th century.

Visiting the capital city, tourists can go to the Buddhist Temples constructed on manmade hills. Bangkok also houses the Grand Palace, which is the home of the King of Thailand, along with the present day ministers of administrations. Besides, tourists can also visit some of the many museums of the country, such as the National Museum (Bangkok), which is the largest museum in the country.

The Railway system of Thailand has a long history, and one can find all the compiled information at the Hall of Railway Heritage Museum in Bangkok. This museum is dedicated to the trains and railway routes of Thailand and is managed by the Thai Railfan Club.

Located at Chatuchak Park, adjacent to the Kamphaeng Phe Road, this museum has various models of trains, steam engines and train relics like diesel truck engines from the World War II era.

Other places worth visiting are the Doi Suthep Temple, Chiang Mai, the Suwan Ku Ha Cave, Elephant Camps and the Khao Luang Cave. Tourists are also attracted towards the Golden Triangle, which is the meeting point of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar.

Another famous attraction is the Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua (Tiger Temple) located in the Kanchanaburi province. Built in 1994, this Buddhist temple is famous for its freely roaming tigers.

The Hot springs of Chiang Mai in the Fang district is popular for its more than 50 hot water springs. Apart from these, the popular thematic destinations in Thailand are the Samut Prakarn Crocodile Farm and Zoo built by Utai Youngprapakorn and the Mae Sa Elephant Training Centre.

Some of the best beaches of the country are the Pattaya Beach, the Nakula Bay and Jometin. Besides, the beaches of Hua Hin and Cha-am are popular entertainment centres for water based activities. There are also many island beaches like Ao Nang, Railay Beach and Karon Beach, where activities like snorkelling, scuba diving and windsurfing are popular.

Located in the Phechabun province of Thailand, the mountains of Khao Kor are a major tourist attraction. This mountain region houses the famous Khao Kor Palace, the Weapon Museum (Than It-Thi) and the Wat Mahathat monastery. The Sri Dit waterfalls are also situated in these mountains that flow from the Wang Thong River.
