Dear fellow traveller, As many of you know, it was in 2004 that a small group of travel enthusiasts gathered around a table to create a completely new identity in Indian travel. This little group of travellers decided that instead of constantly complaining about poor facilities at some hotels, dubious service from parts of the travel trade and prejudiced information by certain publications, it was time for actual Indian travellers to take charge. And so, was set in motion a process of developing an Indian tourism information service fully built on data & opinion provided by actual travellers. In 2004, almost 4 years ago, this was indeed a radical idea and many people that I took this idea to predicted that we would all fail. I am very glad to inform all those who doubted the intent of the Indian traveller that this initiative by real travellers is not just alive but flourishing. Over the last 4 years that little group of travel enthusiasts has grown and by December 2007, over 50 lakh Indians had visited www.HolidayIQ.com (or its predecessor, India Resorts Survey) to gather the best tourism information; indeed many of them also contributed significant tourism information based on their real travel experiences for the benefit of fellow-travellers. 2007 has been wonderful year for HolidayIQ, a year in which we demonstrated relentless innovation, extraordinary user relevance and of course sheer leadership in our ambition of providing world-class tourism information and advice to Indian travellers. This year of milestones for HolidayIQ.com could not have happened without the continued & unstinting participation of many, many Indian travellers.
