Lovely place, nestled in the midst of a forest. It is a very old estate, scenic and enchanting.... .. Lovely place, nestled in the midst of a forest. It is a very old estate, scenic and enchanting. If nature is what you seek, Verdure does justice. And if you want to escape to a quiet place with only the sounds of the cicadas to keep you company, then again, Verdure is the place for you. The hospitality is very homely and so is the food. We being non vegetarians gorged on it. The spread was pretty good too. The cottages are very comfortable too. The furnishings neat and clean. However, the only problem is that the four rooms are too closely located, you share walls, so if you have noisy neighbours (like a group of bachelors) you may get disturbed. The best thing is to go in a group so you enjoy more. The resort is centrally located, so sight seeing is fun. The resort owner has another estate closeby where You can go for a picnic. And if you want to take it easy just lie down in a hammock and soak in the beauty of the place. Overall this place is highly recommended for couples as well as families. Helpful Tip: families with kids should carry enough Toys or activities to keep them busy. More » « Hide

The name "Last Shola" sounds like some nice place and the promises that the hotel person would... .. The name "Last Shola" sounds like some nice place and the promises that the hotel person would make on phone (Complete package per person includes all meals, trekking, boating in pvt lake, etc etc ) are all mis leading. After having stayed at a cofffee estate property in Coorg I know what to expect in an estate property. However, this place doesn't come close to either a resort or an estate home stay. They fleece you by showing a nice website and making false promises. I warn all fellow travellers to seriously consider before booking this place. This is my worst vacation experience so far and you can check my other reviews to see what I mean. This place overcharges by showcasing themselves as a resort or estate property whereas its nothing but a LODGE EXPERIENCE, only with a fairly decent cottage to save the day! More » « Hide

It made us doubt our decision but the moment we reached there we knew that such beautiful places cannot have easy access. This home stay stands out for its hospitality. The staff is exceptionally good. The food is fantastic and the experience of staying in a cottage surrounded by nature is simply majestic. For people who are looking at a peaceful staff for rejuvination, this place comes highly recommended. Also a great place to go in a group so that you dont get bored. The 'privacy' factor is the best. There are only 5 rooms that are let out so less chances of getting lost in a crowd like it happens in most of the resorts. Its like staying at a country home. The place has been artistically done and the surroundings give it the right kind of feel. We simply enjoyed our stay there. More » « Hide

So much is written about the Kerela backwaters experience that sometimes you feel its perhaps..... So much is written about the Kerela backwaters experience that sometimes you feel its perhaps over rated or probably it has also become another over crowded destination like our good old hill stations in north India. But not this one. I dint have a clue of the entire experience until I went there for the first time. The moment I step my foot into the houseboat I knew I was in for an experience of a lifetime. We cruised in the backwaters all day, halting in between to buy fish or even the local 'Toddy'!! There were houses that we passed by, churches and other houseboats that over took us every now and then. We could see fishermen in their banana boats, some displaying their catch for passers by. Sitting on a sofa in the boat and watching everything just running past you was so much fun. The boat stopped for lunch and then cruised again until it was dark. More » « Hide

Ganga Kutir stands out as the best resort around Kolkata due to the sheer experience that one would get there. The resort is located on the banks of the river ganges and all 14 rooms have a view of the water. The Sri Lankan architecture and decors add a majestic feel to the excellent location of the resort. The rooms are luxurious and the staff is also extremely courteous. We\'d been there for celebrating our wedding anniversary and the romanticism of the resort made it an ideal getaway for us.
