Went there with family, my parents, brother's family and my family, three kids in tow. Getting to Golden Palms is easy, especially after the new elevated road on Bangalore Tumkur Road. Location wise nothing great to speak about. But the resort itself is very well done, though the age is now showing (for eg, though it is a 5 star, they still have CTVs in the rooms). The pool is huge and the kids will love it. The people managing the squash, tennis, billiards room etc. need to be a little more accommodative. For eg. when my wife requested whether they could give out the cycle at 6:30 AM rather than 7:00 Am (which is late for activities in a resort), the person behind the counter refused outright almost to the pint of being curt). The food in Cafe Soliare is really good. The buffets, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner are huge, very tasty and our family loved it. The staff are friendly and helpful and overall the highlight of our stay there. More » « Hide

It is a nice drive on the Kanakapura road, and then you turn off to your right and drive through for probably a kilometre or so, and then, voila, you come up to this huge structure which is built more in the nature of those old country houses with a courtyard in the middle and greenery all around. We had a great time, a group of four families with kids. The best thing about Angana is that it has a total of 6 rooms, and so it is hardly ever crowded. There is practically no inhabitation around the resort, making it seem all the more quieter, serene and secluded, though it is hardly a kilometre away from the main road! Food is good, not great, and the staff at the resort let you be, in a non-obtrusive sort of way... All in all, a nice weekend getaway. More » « Hide
