I have had yet another overnight stay at this hotel. really good and nice place to stay. a bit overpriced though. also they dont have parking and either u park it on the road or at a parking place a couple of hundred meters away. they dont have in-house restaurant but have a few menu cards of nearby restaurants who will home(hotel)-deliver the food. the food is amazing. So market is accessible on foot. The exterior of the hotel is kept well. The reception and the lounge are well maintained and kept clean. The flaws start to surface once you enter the rooms. Ok, first of all we arrived Diu very late – after almost 18 hours of traveling. We went straight to Nagoa Beach looking for the hotels, but almost every hotel was fully occupied mainly because of the vacation and ongoing Hindi movie shooting in Diu (remake of Agneepath, starring Sanjay Dutt and Hrithik Roshan). We were offered rooms at the Rasal Beach Resort but we decided to look for some other place as they were asking a very high price for the rooms. So after almost 2 hours of search, we ended up at Khushi International. We checked the rooms (standard and deluxe rooms – the other were occupied). To our surprise the room that they showed us was decently done and well kept. The bathroom was a shock though – totally covered in green tiles (in deluxe rooms) and stain all over the floor and the cleanliness of the bathrooms was down to zero. (the picture on their web page offers the view of the room only – the beds and furniture are what they have shown in the pictures). But we decided to get the rooms at Rasal Beach Resort – unfortunately by the time we contacted them again, they were not enough room to accommodate us all. So we ended up at Khushi International. We were too tired to look for any other place. By the time we went back to reception to get the rooms booked, yet another group was intending to book the rooms, so we had to make the hasty decision and take the 5 Deluxe room that we needed. The funny thing is that the room that they showed us was the best of all the 4 rooms. The other rooms have patches of paints missing and floors were stained. The bathroom were horribly the same all 5 rooms. the beds were cozy though. I dared to venture out in the gallery on our 3rd floor room but it was full of pigeon-poop and smelly as hell. The restaurant was ok – the food ok. We ordered some chilly prawns but the smelly prawns that they served us were again smelly as hell. the entire dinning hall was filled with the stench of the prawns. we had to return the dish untouched. the other food was ok. the 24 hour room service was a bit of a joke. the next day morning I inquire about the room service and the guy said I can order anything from the in-room menu. once I ordered the items the guy said that they can only offer tea/coffee/milk as there was on-going maintenance in the kitchen. A half hour later when my friend ordered for room service (from his room) he was told that they cannot bring anything to room because they do not have any staff for room –service. Now that was really amusing to me – with so called 24 hours room service. So I am not sure if I would ever return back to this hotel. More » « Hide

Some were good, some said average while other mentioned it being terrible. But decided to give it a shot once recommended by my travel advisor. We booked 4 rooms for 4 couples - 3 newly wedded. I would not call it a resort though. The buildings seem to be originally constructed for a colony or rent out service apartments but later converted into resort. Each building has 3 floors with four 1BHK apartments on each floors. Yes! The rooms did had kitchen - the doors of which were ofcourse locked by the hotel. The rooms were ok and could have done with better colours and furniture. The rooms also lacked proper lighting - especially in the bathrooms. The sofas were stained and the view from the balcony was either somebody else’s room or the empty plot behind the resort. Very few rooms offer the pool side balcony and to our best guess are almost exclusively reserved for foreigners (In our experience, the foreigners get more attention and better service almost everywhere in Goa - So the best idea would be to tip well in advance). In all the ambience and appeal of rooms were not at all as they appeared on the webpage. And for honeymooners, its simply a no no - even my bedroom at home looks and feels a lot better than the 3 star rooms of this resort. And there were times when I actually pondered on why I chose to come and stay here while I could have stayed back home. Oh and one thing, the remote controls simply wont work - be it for a.c. or t.v. We complained about this too many a times - but didn’t get anything out of it. So a definitely a No-No for honeymooners and I would even not consider it for a family visit because of the tariffs they charge for the average rooms. One can get a lot better room at these rates. But I cannot complain about the cleanliness and turndown service - they were really very good at that. The bathroom to my surprise was stain and odour free. There are no bathtubs and the shower curtains are simply useless. The reception could do better with well trained staff. No problem with checking-in and checking-out. But they had next to nothing information and guidance for us for the trip. We had hired bikes and needed map/guide which they did not had. And they were not even able to guide us to a nearest shop where we can get one. They had no clue about the nearest petrol pump and advised us to purchase loose petrol from the shops on the main road (costing some Rs. 75/- per litre). Initially, we found it strange when the guy - who checked us in - stressed on phone to bring Welcome Drinks for Indians. Later did we found (when a group of foreigners checked in) that the welcome drink for the foreighners was different from ours (both were non-alcoholic though). You will notice such things across many a places in Goa - especially while shopping. The bar by the pool side is nice place. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner by the pool side. Also, there is some live entertainment every night during the dinner. The bartenders were friendly but not very lively though - probably with their stretched working period. The bar tops were sticky (almost throughout the day) with the spills of beers and drinks. Also you are not allowed to smoke in public places in Goa and therefore they wont let you smoke at the bar. You need to sneak behind the bar or you could take your drinks on the terrace above the bar if you want to smoke. The saving grace for the resort is the food. Excellent food is served in the restaurant. We opted for B&B because we wanted to try out various food outside - but ended up having 2 dinners and 2 lunch at hotel itself during out 6 days stay. Also a couple in our group was celebrating their wedding anniversary and we decided to do a bit of festivity of our own. This was going to be a surprise for them and we were running short of time. The restaurant chef made us a cake (of course, not for free) at a very short notice. When they learn about the surprise, the service staff was more than happy to sneak in the cake in my room with knife and plates. The cake was more than what we expected. It was simply awesome. Hats off to the chef! The breakfast is very repetitive and I would suggest ordering something from the A La Carte menu (charged to your room) along with the buffet. In all, not recommending this resort - especially for the honeymooners. Not recommending this for families as well (at this rates and for such rooms). Maybe redecorating and refurbishing will help. I am not complaining about any major issues here but the stay simply didn’t feel like a memorable one. More » « Hide

We booked a standard double room and as it turned out - it was not what we expected. In fact the room that we were offered was not in the main palace building but built very recently and was quite a walk down the slope from the main palace building which stood on a small hill overlooking lake. However, we were offered room in palace building as it was vacant and we stayed there for 2 nights (out of total 3 nights) The service was ok - nothing extra ordinary. And they could improve a lot here. More » « Hide
