Yosemite National Park is one of the most beautiful among many of its national parks. It is in the state of California on the west coast. The park is in the Yosemite valley which has been carved out of the granitic mountains by glaciers over millions of years. The park has solid granite mountains such as El Capitan, Half Dome, Glacier Point, and very high waterfalls such as Upper Yosemite Falls, Bridalveil falls, Ribbon Falls, Vernal Falls, etc. There is plenty of wild life to see also, black bears, deers, birds etc. Solid granite rock mountains are a haven for rock climbers. Scaling of El Capitan and Half Dome is a dream of many a rock climbers. More » |

We went to Chilika Lake from Puri by a taxi to see the dolphins and other wild life in and around this big sea water lagoon. The water in this lake is quite shallow, around 4 ft. or so and we travel on the lake by a long kayak type boat which is motorized. The dolphins live at the deeper end of the lake near the opening of the lake to the Bay of Bengal. We did see a few dolphins and also quite a variety of wild birds, cranes, seagulls, kites, crows, etc, mostly hovering around the fish nets of the fishermen.
