The location of the hotel is very close to the Mangalore Junction Railway station ( AKA Kankandi Railway Station).
The location is very good ,on the Highway ,at Mahaveera circle ( AKA Pumpwel circle).It is less than 1 K.M. from the Mangalore Junction Railway Station, So, it is very convenient if you want to catch a train from Mangalore Junction.At any time you can get an auto rickshaw from Pumpwel circle.We caught an auto rickshaw at 4.00A.M. !
The Hotel itself very big property.The ambition is good.Elevator is in order and working smoothly.The rooms are very spacious.We were there on 02 Sept 2012.The check in was very smooth and quick.We have no advance booking as the season is not peak in Sept.month.The manager and the whole staff are very humble and cooperative.The lady manager ( unfortunately I forget her name ) is very courteous.She arranges a Taxi with reasonable rate for trip of Katil ( Katil is located at app.30 K.M.from Mangalore ,A very nice temple of Durgaparmeshvari , must see attraction , if you can spend maximum 3 hours including travelling time and visit the temple satisfactory.) The lady manager also allows me to use the Internet for 10 minutes with the kind permission of her authority.( Because the Computer was in office use only ).
The Air condition in the room was working very good .( We were in room no. 219 ). The big glass window with curtain opening to the road side. If you wish, you can also enjoy fresh air from that window. The bed is very comfortable. The cleanliness is fine. They clean our room daily during our two night stay. The bathroom is comparatively slightly small , but it's not too congested. The tariff is Rs.1450/- + Rs.116 luxury tax +Rs. 89 service tax which is very reasonable for Double A/C accommodation,Including morning breakfast for two pax. The property has a nice restaurant, from there you can enjoy a mouth watering breakfast and lunch/dinner.The room service if fine and quick.Overall we are fully satisfied what we had gotten for our money.
Now,come to some drawback.
The hot water in the bathroom is not available for 24 hours.Only in the morning 7.00 A.M. To 9.00 A.M you can get it directly from bathroom tap.In other time if you wish to take bath with hot water ,they provide bucket for that.( But this bucket service is also very fast at anytime.We demand it at 3.00 A.M.and received quickly within 5 minutes.)
Second,the complimentary breakfast is served in limited quantity for any one snack of your choice.You cannot opt for more than one item per head.( Me and my wife opt for Egg.omlet and Masala dhosa, which are enough for us as breakfast).The tea/cofee provided with breakfast.
On the whole If you budget conscious,not looking for luxury but looking for a comfortable stay, value for money,this property is surely give you full satisfaction.
