We also covered the Thirumala Nayak palace and couple of temples near by [Vishnu temples and it was on the day of Swargavadil Ekadasi]. What we planned but not make it were the 2 nearby temples of Lord Muruga. However, one day trip to Rameswaram is a must. We had the dip at the ocean and did poojas for our ancestors. Had a good bath at the 22 little tanks [or wells] each of which has its own unique properties e.g. some are distincly oily. More » « Hide

Room service was very prompt. They had good options available for breakfast. Unfortunately, most of us [self wife and one kid] had stomach upsets [not sure whether to blame hotel food or what we had outside the hotel premise]. More » « Hide

Starting with the welcome drink till the clearing of the payment, it was one smooth and efficient system in place. The view from the resort is breathtaking – the mist over the valley, the tea gardens. The resort had loads of activities including dance floor for the energetic and a good library for those with laid back style of enjoying the vacation ! More » « Hide

The place is a visit for enjoying the sunrise and sunset (both of which we missed) ! The rocky beach is fun to frolick around. The Vivekananda Memorial, Gandhi Mandapam and the Kanyakumari temple elevates one on the spiritual level. A good destination for both mind and body indeed ! More » « Hide

Enroute to Munnar, we had magnificent views of valleys, gushing waterfalls and lush green tea gardens. The enjoyable part was impromptu breaks at waterfalls. Enjoyed the speed boat ride at Mattupetty dam and was privileged to view a small herd of wild elephants. Most memorable part was the visit to Eravikulam National Park. We were in close proximity to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and enjoyed the carpets of Nilakurunji in full bloom, which it does once in 12 years. The kids are eagerly waiting to grow up by another 12 years to watch them in full bloom again ! More » « Hide
