When it is raining ,everything looks beautiful on this part of India. It is not just Udaibagh this is Udaibagh Palace as Udaibagh is a five star tented accommodation in the city. Udaibagh Palace is approx. 15-20Km away from the city on the way to airport & Chittodgadh. The last patch of 3Km to the resort is really bad where there is no road and in particularly during monsoon it is covered with water, but once you enter the gate of the resort it is absolutely different. Excellent garden with beautiful landscaping,typical Rajasthani architectural buildings and very efficient security gueard welcomes you. Swagat(welcome) is done with Ravan Hattha player,tikki on your forehead and small bouquet is really a nice gesture. Welcome drink of pineapple juice can easily be avoided. Behind the registration building there is a huge lawn with three sides covered with the blocks of rooms. Each block has four rooms each with verandah. The rooms are decorated on the Rajasthani style. Bathrooms were huge but with lots of plumbing problems and no hooks & rings for cloths,towels etc. Rooms are very well lighted and has good moving space compared to other city hotels. Doors were not properly fixed & were not closing properly. Electrical power was not stabilized one so fluctuation and frequent tripping of AC & changeover from regular power to gen. set was there.
We were group of 35 people and found difficult to seat all together as there is no place with shade where we can seat and as it was raining could not seat in the lawn,and as such it will never be possible to seat in the lawn during the day direct to sun. I would suggest to have gazebos on all four sides of the lawn where families and friends can seat. The swimming pool is good but again without any shade on any side so non swimmers cannot seat on sides. Few deck chairs and few picnic sets with umbrellas are essential.
Restaurant is huge for atleast 200 people seating or atleast 400 people in case of buffet. In the resort with 40 rooms and two suites,I could not understood the purpose of having so huge a restaurant. The drawback of the restaurant is it can never get cool as no fans and AC requires atleast 3 hours to cool down this huge a place. More of a restaurant it looks like a hall and does not give good ambience eventhough having huge glasses on all three sides.Another banquet to accommodate 500 people well equipped is also there,other swimming pool on 1st floor is under construction.I am afraid how are they going to maintain over infrastructure buildings.
I would recommend this destination with few ifs & buts. Weather has to be good,resort people must have shades area and must improve on plumbing and bathroom accessories.
