We had booked a rooms at Paradise Isle Beach resort for our Christmas vacation through a resort executive from Bangalore office. My daughter had vacation at school and I wanted to utilize it well by spending time with her. So we didn't care for the cost (30% increase in room price during Christmas) and went ahead and booked dreaming to have a memorable vacation. However it was not worth the cost you pay.The only good point is its location, but you can enjoy the benefit ONLY if you take Deluxe Sea View rooms.
I drove down from Bangalore and after a drive on the horrifying roads on Shiradi Ghat, we stopped at Mangalore. Next day after breakfast we started to Malpe and reached the resort at 12:30PM. The check-in time was confirmed to be 12 noon but we were made to wait for almost half an hour before we got our room. We booked a Premium Sea View room as the resort executive promised us a good sea view. We were disappointed to see the rooms facing the parking and the sea was hardly seen. The noise at the parking area also woke us up at untimely hours making it a nightmare.
Don't be carried away with the photos on their website like me. I assumed it to have a private beach. However I was still under this impression even after I reached there and had lunch in the sea facing restaurant. However after 3:30PM, I saw loads of bus carrying school children and locals from Udupi flocking the place. The sea view was nothing less than Chennai Marina beach at evenings.
However the front office were courteous and tried to make us feel comfortable.
