Presa Di Goa meaning captive of Goa is a very small & cute resort in North Goa\'s Nagoa(Calangute area). It\'s about 5 minuets drive from north Goa\'s famous Calangute & Baga beach. The resort is designed and furnished keeping the portugese architecture and design in mind. The double storey resort has 5 suites and 2 deluxe rooms with attached balconies, a poolside garden restaurant, a swimming pool, kiddies pool, a treadmill to exercise, ample parking place and an ayurvedic massage centre. They have a very good collection of books like Palaces of rajasthan, houses of Goa etc for the tourist to have some knowledge on India. They provide complimentary pick up and drop to calangute and baga beaches and also provide beach towels direct from laundry.
We happened to stay in two of their rooms as per availabilty which give us the opportunity to comment on their deluxe room named Jasmine as well as junior suite named Crossandra.
All their rooms are named after flowers. Jasmine and Lotus are the deluxe rooms and Crossandra, Hibiscus, Champa, Marigold and Ixora are the junior suites. Crossandra is considered as their best suite , quite spacious having a double bed, 2 closets, TV, Split AC, 5 seater sofa, centre table, study table, 2 bed side tables, telephone with direct STD/ISD dialing facility, bathroom with bath tub, hot/cold shower. The room also has an attached pool facing balcony with cane table and chairs.
Jasmine is one of their deluxe rooms which is as good as any hotels room having a double bed, a closet, TV, Split AC, 2 chairs and centre table, study table, 2 bed side tables, telephone with direct STD/ISD dialing facility, bathroom with hot/cold shower. The room also has an attached balcony with cane table and chairs.
All their rooms are provided with 2 linen bathing gowns and disposable bed room sleepers, city maps, party planners and some books and magazines.
The best thing to talk about this resort is the ELITE standard they maintain. This resort is managed rather micro managed by their owner Edward, who has very good experience of managing hotels & resorts internationally of 5 star standards. The way they provide room service is even better than that provided by some of our Taj properties in India. Right from cleaning of rooms, bathrooms, changing linens, towels, sanitizing the items kept in the room and everything one can think of. Right form checking in at the resort till one checks out they make sure they pamper you in every possible manner. I was surprized, every time I used to step out of the room for a while on returning I found the rooms were cleaned, linens changed, towels replaced and everything else organized. the swimmimg pool is cleaned every day and always has aqua blue colour.
Talking about their restaurant, they provide complimentary breakfast to all their guest where one can choose from toasts with butter/jam, fresh juices, omlettes, fried eggs, fresh fruits, tea/coffee/milk, parantha, poori-bhaji, corn flakes and many more. The quantity, quality and presentation is as good as any 5 star hotel/resorts of India. Their ala carte menu has global meals like turkish, indian, goan and continental. Though their menu is quite limited, but the taste and prsentation gets a 10 out of 10. I tried one of their starters called sheesh kabab, it\'s like small bonelss mutton pieces inserted in wooden skewers and served over an earthen pot with burning charcoal in it.
I stayed on a MAP package where I was entitled for one meal a day of Rs. 500 each, which is enough for two people. At times the bill also increased the said Rs.500 amount, but they never charged me any extra for that.
Thier staff are very well trained, professional on the same hand also service the guests with that unique homely goan touch. And the have a pet dog called Tasha who is sooooo cute and loving.
To conclude, I am quite impressed with this small boutique resort in terms of their facilities, behaviour, services and food and thats too in such less money.
