We started from Delhi and stayed at Jabalpur for one day. One can reach Jabalpur from Delhi by Train (Jabalpur Express, Gondwana Express both leave delhi in evening and reaches Jabalpur in morning, we went by Mahakaushal, which has a tendency of getting late and lived upto its expectation). On day of reaching visited Dhuandhar/Beraghat where Narmada water falls into deep gorge, it’s a beautiful fall. Now they have made a ropeway there which gives good view of the fall.. Also one can boat at Beraghat in b/w Marble rocks, good experience. U can buy good marble artworks pretty v. cheap from Beraghat but do bargain. Left Jabalpur next morning by Mujaffarpur LTT express (3 hr journey) & reached Pipariya (nearest railway station from Panchmarhi), booked a taxi and reached Panchmarhi in afternoon (panchmarhi is 54 k.m from Pipariya). It’s a very calm and quite hill station and unlike hills of north, its not having that height and hence its not that cold too (Pretty reasonable weather, never felt the need of woolens except one on high altitude during sightseeing in late evening, kids may need a bit of protection) & thankfully it doesn’t have any Mall Road!!!. Whole area comes under Cantonment and so too much commercialization is not there… In Panchmarhi there are lots of places to visit and Operators have Maruti Jypsy having 4 wheel drive to visit difficult terrain areas. Have your trekking shoes On since majority of places involves trekking/dificult terrain. For entering into Forest area, one will have to pay for forest entry fee and guide charges (during our visit it was Rs.410 which was supposed to be increased to Rs.800-900) but do visit at these places (Bee Fall, Apsara Vihar, Rajat Prapat, Reechgarh etc..) which are very scenic… Distinctive feature of Panchmarhi is that nature has not been commercialized, being in Reserve Forest area u can't have commercial activites. In Bee fall, only couple of persons are there selling tea with no kiosks!!!! a welcome relief from other hill stations... For Bee Fall and Rajat Prapat, Pitthhos are available for taking kids since terrain is a bit difficult to walk (they charge Rs.100 both ways and Rs.50 single way).. When u are any scenic location, one can smell the nature, at Rajendra Giri wherein flowers were in full bloom, fragrance of flower takes over you....didn't find this in any other hill station!!! In nutshell, good place to be in and a must visit place… Rgds Piyush More » « Hide

Its a good utility hotel with playground for kids and lots of Swings and slides, which kids just love and refuse to go back in room!!!! This hotel has walk ways & open space wherein you can take a stroll in early morning or after dinner. Food is good and freshly made and served hot and hence takes some time in serving, so have some spare time before going for lunch/dinner. Since rooms are a bit spreaded, it takes some time for room service and a bit tardy. In nutshell, You may be able to spot lots of natural creatures. It also get good amount of monkeys from surrounding areas who converges on this hotel from time to time and play around, so be watchful of monkeys... More » « Hide
